Srinivas Pallia is a Wipro veteran, having worked there for more than 30 years. Here’s all you need to know about him.
Wipro has appointed Srinivas Pallia as its new Managing Director and CEO, replacing Thierry Delaporte, who has resigned from the position.
The Bengaluru-based IT behemoth announced in a statement that Pallia will take over as MD and CEO, starting immediately.
“He (Srinivas Pallia) succeeds Thierry Delaporte, who, after spearheading a significant transformation at Wipro for the last four years, is stepping down to pursue passions outside the workplace,” Wipro said in a statement.
Srinivas Pallia is a Wipro veteran, having worked there for more than 30 years.
Most recently, he was CEO of Americas 1. In this job, he oversaw numerous industry sectors, established targets, and carried out expansion strategies, resulting in increased market share in those areas.
Srinivas Pallia also serves on Wipro’s Executive Board.
He joined Wipro in 1992 and has held many leadership positions, including President of the Consumer Business Unit and Global Head of Business Application Services.
Pallia began his career at Wipro as a product manager, ascending to President of the Consumer Business Unit and Chief Executive of the RCTG Business Unit.
He has a Master of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Science. He also finished McGill University’s Advanced Leadership Program and Harvard Business School’s Global Leadership, Strategy, and Management course.
In a press release, Wipro noted that Srinivas Pal “brings to the CEO role extensive institutional and industry knowledge, as well as a strong track record of leadership through some of the most significant technological shifts the industry has seen.”.
