Virat Kohli on the Shubman Gill-Ishan Kishan bromance: 'It's funny, Sita and Geeta...'

Labeling the two Team India players as identical twins, star Indian player Virat Kohli has opened up, saying it was difficult to separate these players from each other.

Since a fresh group of young players joined the Indian squad, the players have developed an extraordinary camaraderie. Shubman Gill, India’s promising opener, and wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan are rumored to have a relationship.

These cricketers’ friendship, jokes, fun, and frolic are frequently documented on social media, both on and off the field.

India’s top star player, Virat Kohli, has now spoken out, describing the two players as identical twins and stating that it is tough to differentiate them.

Shubman Gill

“So hilarious, Sita and Geeta (Ishan and Shubman). I don’t know what’s going on either. I can’t say much, but these guys can’t remain alone on trips. If we go out for meals, they will all come together. During conversations, they are constantly together. I have not seen them alone. “They are great friends,” Kohli told NDTV at an event.

On February 28, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the annual player contracts for Team India (Senior Men) for the 2023–24 season, removing Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from the contract list.

“Please take note that Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were not considered for annual contracts in this round of recommendations,” stated the BCCI in an official statement.

Shubman Gill

The BCCI was allegedly dissatisfied with Kishan for not playing domestic cricket while he was not representing the national side. Despite expectations that Kishan would play local cricket during his absence from the national squad, the wicketkeeper-batsman did not appear in any Ranji Trophy matches for his state team, Jharkhand.

Despite India’s head coach Rahul Dravid’s suggestion that he play some cricket to earn his position in the Indian side, Kishan rejected it.

Gill and Ishan are currently competing well in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024).

Shubman Gill

Gill is the Gujarat Titans franchise’s captain after Hardik Pandya joined the Mumbai Indians, while Kishan is a wicketkeeper-batsman for the Mumbai Indians.

This season in the IPL, Gill has two half-centuries in a row, while Kishan has 92 runs in four games.

Meanwhile, Kohli leads the IPL 2024 scoring statistics with 316 runs in five matches, an average of 105.33.
