Samsung Electronics today revealed the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24, all of which use Galaxy AI and provide new mobile experiences.The Galaxy S series ushers in a new age that will permanently alter how mobile devices empower people. With Galaxy AI, significant intelligence is introduced with the goal of improving every aspect of life, particularly the most important function of a phone: communication. The Galaxy S24 makes it simpler than ever to overcome linguistic obstacles. Talk with a foreign student or a foreign coworker. When traveling abroad for vacation, make a reservation. Live Translate, which provides two-way, real-time audio and text translations of phone calls within the native app, makes all of this possible. Transcript Assist7 uses AI and speech-to-text technology to transcribe, summarize, and even interpret speech recordings with multiple speakers.

The ProVisual Engine9 in the Galaxy S24 series is a complete suite of AI-powered technologies that changes picture capture skills and enhances creative freedom at every stage, from shot setup to social sharing. Images shot from afar are no longer wobbly and pixelated. The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s Quad Tele System, which includes a new 5x optical zoom lens, combines with the 50MP camera to deliver optical-quality performance at zoom levels ranging from 2x, 3x, 5x, and 10×10 magnification, courtesy of the Adaptive Pixel camera. Images also exhibit crystal-clear results at 100x using improved digital zoom.
With improved Nightography features, images and videos taken with the Galaxy S24 Space Zoom look great in any lighting, especially at high zoom levels. The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 1.4 μm pixel size, 60% larger than the previous model, allows for better light capture in low-light environments. Blur is minimized on the Galaxy S24 Ultra thanks to broader optical image stabilizer (OIS) angles and improved handshake correction. When filming films, both the front and back cameras use Dedicated ISP Block to reduce noise, and the Galaxy S24 analyzes gyro information to discern between the filmer’s and the subject’s movements. This enables more effective noise reduction and clear movies in the dark, even from a distance.
After stunning photos are obtained, the groundbreaking Galaxy AI editing capabilities allow for basic modifications such as delete, re-compose, and remaster. Edit Suggestion 12 utilizes Galaxy AI to propose exactly the right modifications for each photo, making optimization easier and more effective. Generative Edit 13 uses generative AI to fill in areas of a picture backdrop, giving users even more creative flexibility and freedom. When a photograph is crooked, AI will fill in the borders. When an object needs to be slightly shifted to be in the ideal position, AI allows users to alter the subject’s position while generating a perfectly blended backdrop in its original location. When the Galaxy S24 uses generative AI to magnify an image, a watermark will appear on the image and in the metadata. If an action-packed video has to be slowed down, the new Instant Slow-mo feature may produce additional frames depending on motions, effortlessly slowing down action-packed moments for a more comprehensive view.
To ensure that every photograph is stunning at every step, Super HDR provides lifelike previews before the shutter is even released. While collecting memories is an important phone function, sharing them with the rest of the world is equally crucial. Third-party social applications may now make full use of the Galaxy’s AI-powered camera system. Premium Galaxy S series photography features now work directly with mobile applications in HDR, enhancing social sharing.14 When searching for an image in the Gallery or Instagram feed and reels, photographs and videos are displayed in Super HDR for a more authentic range of brightness, color, and contrast by evaluating the prominent sections of the images.

The Next Stage in Samsung’s Environmental Journey
Creating a new category of mobile experiences necessitates rethinking how Galaxy technology is built and packaged to achieve more with less for people and the environment. Galaxy S24 expands the range of recycled materials in Galaxy devices by using recycled plastics, glass, and aluminum in internal and exterior components.23 It also takes these initiatives a step further. For the first time, the Galaxy S24 includes components created from recycled cobalt and rare earth metals.24 The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s battery contains at least 50% recycled cobalt, and the speakers are made entirely of recycled rare earth metals.26
The Galaxy S24 is also the first Galaxy S model to use recyclable steel and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a minimum of 40% recycled steel in the speakers and a minimum of 10% pre-consumer recycled TPU in the side and volume buttons. Furthermore, each Galaxy S24 is packaged in a box made entirely of recycled paper.
The newest flagship builds on Samsung’s commitment to prolonging product lifecycles, with seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates to ensure that consumers continue to enjoy optimal performance from their Galaxy devices for even longer.28 Finally, the Galaxy S24 is UL ECOLOGO® certified, and the Carbon Trust has evaluated and validated its carbon impact.30
The Galaxy S24 is an example of development towards Samsung MX’s environmental goals. Samsung remains committed to meeting its targets by the end of 2025. 31 By the end of 2022, Samsung will have met the first of these objectives by integrating recycled materials into all mobile devices, from Galaxy smartphones and tablets to PCs and wearables. Today, the corporation established a new recycled material objective. By 2030, Samsung plans to include at least one recycled material in each module of its mobile products.
