“Over the past six months, I have been fighting cancer. I think it’s finally time to inform folks. I shall be unable to participate in the Lok Sabha elections in any way. I have informed the PM of everything. “Always appreciative and devoted to the nation, Bihar, and the party,” his message stated.

It was anticipated that Bihar, where he had a significant impact on the party that had grown over three decades, would be the most affected by his departure.

In two terms spanning over 11 years, from 2005 to 2020, he was Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar.

Senior BJP leaders Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Ravi Shankar Prasad also expressed their condolences for him.

“The news of our senior leader Sushil Kumar Modi’s passing saddens me. Bihar has lost a great political pioneer for all time today. Sushil Ji has held several prominent roles in the government and organization, ranging from the BJP to the ABVP.

His politics were devoted to upholding the rights of the underprivileged and disadvantaged. It will take a while to replace the gap that his passing has created in Bihar politics. The whole BJP is in solidarity with his grieving family at this difficult time. May God provide the departed soul with a seat at his lotus feet. In an unpolished translation, Mr. Shah said, “Om Shanti Shanti.”

“It is deeply sorrowful to learn about the passing of senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sushil Modi ji. We have collaborated on projects for the Vidhyarthi Parishad for a considerable amount of time.

Bihar was Sushil Modi’s lifelong passion. Bihar has greatly benefited from Sushil Modi’s efforts to escape the jungle regime and begin its journey toward prosperity. For many workers, his absence is an irreversible loss,” BJP head JP Nadda said in his tweet.
