Rohit Bal, known for his flamboyant and rich designs, died on Friday. His funeral was held in Delhi today. 

Rohit Bal, one of India’s most renowned fashion designers was cremated in Delhi on Saturday. Bal, 63, died on Friday from a heart attack.

On Saturday afternoon, his remains were transported from his New Delhi apartment for cremation. Videos from the Lodhi Road Crematorium showed a large audience ready to pay their final farewells to the renowned designer.

Fashion designers Rohit Gandhi and Varun Bahl, as well as actor and model Arjun Rampal, attended the departure ceremony for Bahl.

Former Union Minister and BJP leader Smriti Irani paid her ultimate tribute to the designer.

A prayer service in memory of Rohit Bal will be conducted on Monday, November 4, at 4 p.m. at the Sai International Centre in New Delhi.

The tributes began to flood in once the news of Rohit Bal’s death surfaced. The fashion community lamented the demise of “Gudda,” as Bal was affectionately known.

Rohit Bal, who hails from Kashmir, was noted for his flashy and costly designs, and he had numerous top Bollywood celebrities as clients.

His designs have been worn by international celebrities like Pamela Anderson, Uma Thurman, Cindy Crawford, and Naomi Campbell.

The Fashion Design Council of India, of which Bal was a founding member, expressed condolences over his passing.

“We grieve the death of the brilliant designer Rohit Bal. “Known for his unique blend of traditional patterns and modern sensibilities, Bal’s work redefined Indian fashion and inspired generations,” the FDCI stated on Instagram, with a photo of the fashion star.

“His legacy of artistry, originality, and forward-thinking will endure in the fashion industry. “Rest in peace, GUDDA,” the council said.
