Mayank began his innings by dismissing MI’s Mohammad Nabi in his fourth over. Rahul reintroduced Mayank into the attack in the 18th over, and the speed ace dismissed Nabi on the first ball. However, Mayank sustained a potential injury as the elite pacer walked off the field after Nabi was dismissed. LSG fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq finished the over after Mayank departed the field.
How did Mayank perform against the Mumbai Indians?
Mayank conceded 31 runs and took one wicket in his return match at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. In terms of bowling, Mohsin Khan of LSG took two wickets, while Marcus Stoinis (1), Naveen (1), Mayank (1), and Ravi Bishnoi (1) each took four wickets to help the Mumbai Indians keep the score low. Nehal Wadhera’s brave 46 and Tim David’s fast 35 off 18 balls helped the Mumbai Indians reach 144-7 in 20 overs.

Mayank achieved the milestone in the IPL 2024 by bowling a 156.7 delivery against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The budding LSG star is also the first to receive Player of the Match accolades in his first two IPL outings.
