The upcoming Superman film, directed by James Gunn, will look at an earlier period in Clark Kent’s life. Newly released images from the set hint at the plot.
Fans are excited by newly released images from James Gunn’s next Superman film. They depict David Corenswet in a fairly unpleasant situation: being detained by the military. (Also Read: James Gunn’s Next Superman Project Repurposes Leader Building into The Daily Planet.)
What does this imply?
New social media photos from the set of the new Superman film reveal David Corenswet dressed in the iconic Superman outfit. He has his wrists bound behind his back and is being led by the military to a place known as Metropolis City Hall.
Fans also caught a glimpse of a strange figure standing directly behind Superman, wearing an all-black suit with the word ‘U’ printed on it. His face is likewise obscured by a black mask. Many believe that the U represents Ultraman, Clark Kent’s wicked doppelgänger from Earth-3. Another theory is that the masked guy is Ulysses, also known as Neil Quinn, who is collaborating with the military to defeat Superman. However, there is currently no official news about the narrative or villain in Superman: Legacy.
A user on X also linked the leaked images of Superman’s arrest to a fictitious sequence in Zack Snyder’s 2016 film Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, in which the military escorts Henry Cavill’s Superman, who is also shackled.
Rachel Brosnahan was also sighted on the scene, although she disguised her suit with all-black apparel to avoid cameras.
