Kapil Dev compliments the ‘amazing’ Indian cricket squad, saying Jasprit Bumrah is a thousand times better.
Kapil Dev, a cricket star, has stated that group performance, rather than individual brilliance, will be the decisive element in whether Rohit Sharma’s squad in India can end its decade-long trophy drought.
Kapil Dev, the renowned former India all-rounder, believes Jasprit Bumrah is a “1000 times better” bowler than he was in his heyday.
Jasprit Bumrah has done remarkably well in the present T20 World Cup, taking 11 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 4.08 in 23 overs. Jasprit Bumrah, now regarded as the best pacer in international cricket, has appeared in 26 Tests for India, taking 159 wickets with an economy rate of less than three.
“Jasprit Bumrah is a thousand times better than me. These little lads are significantly superior to us. We had greater experience. “They’re better,” Kapil told PTI.
Kapil praised the general fitness standards of the current national cricket squad, saying, “They are very good.” Outstanding. They’re fitter.”
“They are far more hardworking. “They’re fantastic,” he continued.
The cricket icon also stated that group performance, rather than individual brilliance, will be the decisive element in whether Rohit Sharma’s squad India can end its trophy drought of more than a decade.
“Why only talk about Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Kuldeep Yadav? Everyone has a role to perform. Kapil told PTI, “Their job is to win the tournament.”
“To win a match, an odd person can emerge, but to win a tournament, everyone must collaborate.” “If we rely on Jasprit Bumrah or Arshdeep, you are going to lose it,” he declared.
Kapil also wished Team India well ahead of their semi-final encounter against England, hoping that the Men in Blue would win the trophy.
“All the best, good luck. I hope the Indian players, the way they are playing, keep on playing like that; they should not have a bad day and be out of the tournament (like) what happened last time in the 50-over World Cup,” added the cricketer.
Kapil finished his career with a then-world record 434 Test wickets and is regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders of all time, having also taken 253 ODI scalps. The 65-year-old guided India to their first World Cup triumph in 1983.
