The great player for the Dallas Mavericks, Kyrie Irving, has predicted that teammate Luka Doncic will soon take home the MVP trophy.
Even though Nikola Jokic won his third MVP in as many seasons, Irving thinks Doncic will take home the prized trophy “very soon.”
“To Joker, congratulations. Regarding Jokic’s MVP victory, Irving remarked, “He’s been having fantastic seasons.” “He has been leading this team at an incredible pace and making small personal distinctions from the rest of us peers.” Luka has had an incredible run, but if it’s not this year, I believe he will win MVP very soon indeed.”
In 70 games this season, Doncic averaged 33.9 points, 9.8 assists, and 9.2 rebounds, demonstrating his extraordinary talent and hard ethic. His dominance was demonstrated when he became the first player in history to average 33 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists per game.
“If you look at his numbers across the board and you look at how he was carrying our team, that’s nothing short of an MVP,” Irving stated. “He had just returned from the World Cup. spending the previous 18 months or so playing a lot of basketball. I just consider all the contributing elements that allowed him to demonstrate why he was this league’s MVP.”
Irving stated that he would like players to vote for the MVP award, which is presently decided by the media. The players, whom he considers to be “basketball savants,” would, in his opinion, provide the necessary perspective to further establish the just outcome.
Hey, it’s not our decision or his. It depends on their voting mechanism,” Irving remarked. “Hopefully, that will improve in the future so that, as gamers, we can truly have a voice. Since I believe it is important that our voice be heard as well,. We are experts at basketball. Since we were little, we have been playing it. Without intending to offend the media or anybody else with the ability to vote, we must be involved in that process.“
With Jokic’s victory, three players who were not born in the United States have placed 1-2-3 in the MVP voting for three seasons running. Out of 99 first-place votes, 79 went to the Denver Nuggets star. Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander came in second and third, respectively.
It is evident that foreign players are having a big influence on the NBA as it develops further. We’ll probably see more foreign-born players competing for the MVP title in the future as Doncic and other gifted players continue to rise. And Doncic may be the next player to enter the exclusive club of MVP winners if Irving’s prediction comes true.
Doncic and the Mavericks are still focused on making it to the Western Conference Finals for the second time in his career. Dallas is tied in the series 1-1 going into Saturday’s Game 2 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The next two games will be contested at the American Airlines Center.
