When Busta Rhymes was sitting courtside at a New York Knicks game, she shocked onlookers by donning a fresh new style.
Busta saw his local club take a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference playoffs as he saw the Knicks defeat the Indiana Pacers 121-91 on Tuesday, May 14.
The 51-year-old rap icon shared a photo of himself at the game on Instagram, where he appeared noticeably more toned and had more hair.
Fans were aware of his transformation, and they showered his comment section with appreciation and amazement.
One follower praised him, saying, “Busta looks so much younger with less weight on him,” while another commented, “Bro looks like the teenage leader of the school, lol.”
“Bro got his new clone out here,” a third user joked and said.
It is commonly known that Busta Rhymes has spent the past year trying to improve his health.
In an interview with Men’s Health from the previous summer, he said that his decision to lose 100 pounds was motivated by a health concern he had following an intimate relationship with his now-ex-wife.
“I was having a really hard time breathing, so I got up and left the bedroom so she wouldn’t freak out when she saw me trying to be calm,” he explained.
“I felt that my attempt to breathe in wasn’t succeeding. Even though I don’t have asthma, I felt like I was having an attack. I forced myself to breathe and to relax as I made my way from the bedroom into the living area.
“That was terrifying me so much that it was a mindfuck,” he went on. “I had to maintain my composure to make sure she didn’t hear me panic or gasp for air.” I’m attempting to calm down in the living room while completely nude.
“This is not the person I fell in love with,” she said. She was staring at my physique and the weight, not knowing what had transpired outside.
You really need to shed this weight, she said. I’m scared of this breath. You weren’t like a musclehead when I first met you; instead, you were trim, slender, and knew just how to handle yourself. Please return to the person I fell in love with.
