Barrow County, Georgia Apalachee High School in Winder in Barrow County was put on a tight lockdown earlier because of a big incident.
According to school officials, the school was placed on tight lockdown following reports of shootings.
FOX 5 Atlanta got many phone calls and texts regarding a suspected gunshot, and a team is on its way to the location.
SkyFOX 5 is flying above the area, and emergency personnel can be seen treating students at the school. At least two people were witnessed being loaded onto helicopters and transferred to hospitals for treatment.
There are scores of law enforcement officials at the campus.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m., the school informed FOX News that it had been cleared and children were being released to their families. Students may be picked up from their school. Buses will also operate for kids who require transportation to their homes. The school said it will provide further information as soon as possible.
The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office said it will provide updates on its Facebook page.
According to US News & World Report, the school has roughly 1,900 students enrolled. It is one of two high schools in the Barrow County Public School system.
