Alex Pereira reveals Dana White’s unfiltered show of faith with an unseen clip of the UFC 303 backstage interaction.
Everyone was surprised and thrilled when Dana White announced Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka as the substitute match for UFC 303. Surprised that Conor McGregor had to withdraw at the last minute due to an injury, and amazed that Pereira, who had just fought UFC 300, took the fight on such short notice.
Dana White maintained trust in ‘Poatan’ during UFC 300, despite fan doubts, and Pereira defeated Jamahal Hill. This time, White has complete trust in the light heavyweight champion.
In the most recent UFC video, Pereira showed confidence and thoroughness during the UFC 303 press conference before heading backstage. Surprisingly, the expression of appreciation did not stop with the crowd. Dana White was ecstatic and praised Poatan. White stated, “This is why the people adore him so much. This explains why individuals behave the way they do. One day, I’ll return to Australia to take on and defend this struggle.” The CEO even hugged and slapped the UFC star on the shoulder, congratulating him for taking the fight on such short notice.
Even Pereira’s coach was teaching the teenagers in his camp how to become legends, using Pereira as an example. He went on: “This is the type of thing that builds a legend.” Finally, ‘Poatan’ expressed his views, saying that the conversation with White was positive and that the head honcho said kind things about him.
This is not the first time he has voluntarily stepped in to save the day. He had previously done the same thing at UFC 295 and UFC 300. Dana White has now preserved his grace, especially after Jiri Prochazka decided to accuse Pereira of employing “magic.” The former champion, who was knocked out by Pereira in their first fight in November, accused his foe of using magic and shamans’.
Nonetheless, White enjoyed this ceremony and stated that he liked how Pereira’s historical rituals intensified the competitiveness between the competitors. Additionally, White had previously lauded Pereira.
Dana White hails Alex Pereira as the biggest star.
During UFC 295, ‘Poatan’ rescued the event by not only defeating Prochazka but also helping UFC earn $12.4 million, which was close to McGregor’s $17.7 million. He spoke on ESPN Hot Take and agreed with Stephen A. Smith when the latter mentioned Pereira and called him a star. White also claimed that ‘Poatan’ was a box office hit.
White commended the fighter, noting that Brazil is where it all started. Brazil has always produced tremendous stars. “Alex Pereira is Brazil’s new big star.”
Pereira is the first and only athlete to win both the middleweight and light heavyweight belts in just two years and seven contests. So it’s hardly surprising that Dana White trusts him completely. But, do you?
