Seth Rollins provided an update to the WWE Universe on the health of his knee issues ahead of his two major battles at WrestleMania 40 this weekend.
Seth Rollins told ESPN ahead of WrestleMania that his knee is feeling “pretty good” and that he purposefully wanted to test himself in home shows in the lead-up to the event.
“You know, it’s feeling pretty good,” Seth Rollins explained. “I made a point of attending certain non-televised events to try it out. Going into WrestleMania, I wanted to know what I was up against.
Going into WrestleMania, I wanted to know what I was up against. I felt good going through those bouts; they were tag team matches with Cody Rhodes, so it was a little less workload, but I wanted to see how the knee would react.
I was curious about how the MCL and meniscus would feel, and there were a few snags along the way. As any athlete will tell you, the path to recovery is never straight.“
Seth Rollins went on to explain that he is in a good position, but he is unsure what will happen after WrestleMania in terms of his recuperation, leaving the door open for a possible hiatus.
“But I’m in a really good position heading into this weekend; I’m confident that I’ll provide the performance that people want from me tonight and tomorrow. And we’ll take it from there.
I’m not sure what the following stages are after WrestleMania, but this is the major one. “We had to get through it, and there was no way I was not going to be there,” Rollins said.
Seth Rollins will be doing double duty this weekend, first wrestling in a tag team battle with Cody Rhodes against The Rock and Roman Reigns tonight and then defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre on Sunday night.
