Chris Paul has started the last five games, including the final three against Steph Curry, therefore Kerr is benching Paul for Moses Moody’s game against San Antonio.

The Warriors want to make a change, and maybe Moody’s early spark can help them do it. Although Paul will still play a significant role and probably play with Curry for multiple minutes at a time, coach Kerr now prefers to start the game with two different players in the starting lineup.

This change helps the Warriors become much bigger in their starting lineup in addition to enabling them to do various things offensively with both of their units. For this specific game, it makes sense to start the 6’0″ Paul instead of the 6’6″ Moody since the Spurs open a very large lineup.

Even if this team performs well, Steve Kerr has demonstrated a propensity to switch up his starting lineup frequently this season. Nevertheless, it’s encouraging to see the Warriors abandon a strategy that was not performing well, particularly in a game that was expected to provide a lot of difficulties for their prior starting five.
